Easter is tomorrow and we want the lodge to be as festive as possible. So with that, we decided to make peep s’mores for our guests to enjoy. Now, we are no baking experts, and in full disclosure, we did find this recipe on Pinterest. Regardless, we were feeling festive and peeps are so cheap, so we thought, why not?
To start you will need peeps (color doesn’t matter), graham crackers (store bought or homemade) and chocolate bars. Depending on how many you want to make, you may want to adjust your ingredients. Our recipe used two packs of peeps, one box of graham crackers and three Hershey’s chocolate bars. We managed to make eight peeps total and had plenty of left over ingredients to make more.
- Preheat your stove to 350 degrees
- Separate your peeps, graham crackers and chocolate into size you want
- Place individual peeps on graham cracker halves and line baking sheet
- Bake graham crackers and peeps at 350 degrees for 3 mins
- Remove s’more halves from oven and top with chocolate and other graham cracker half
That’s it! Just like any other s’more recipe, this one is SUPER easy to make, but with a colorful twist. Although it was warmer weather this weekend, we decided to do this recipe inside with an oven, as opposed to the traditional campfire way of cooking a s’more. However, we predict that campfire peep s’mores will taste just as good as the oven ones. This is good news for all you parents out there who’s kids won’t eat the peeps out of their Easter baskets tomorrow morning. If not, bring them to the lodge and make s’mores with us!
