Predicted Trends for the 2020 Wedding Season

Predicted Trends for the 2020 Wedding Season

It’s the start of a new year, which means it’s time to breakdown trends we’re predicted to see this wedding season. Although this year marks the start of a new decade, it will be interesting to see if and how this season’s trends will be influenced. Natural disasters, ’90’s babies’, political issues, the ‘roaring 20’s’ and more could play a factor in this season’s trends. We will have to wait and see! Until then here is a short list of trends predicted for 2020 weddings.

Color Palettes

Pantone’s color choice for the year 2020 is classic blue, so you can expect to see variations of blue incorporated everywhere. However, wedding websites like The Knot are saying that unusual colors, such as Neo mint, cassis, faded denim and rich earthy undertones will also be incorporated into color palettes.

It is the “roaring 20’s” once again! The 1920’s definitely had an influence on alcohol, so expect to see a change in alcoholic sips during the next decade, in general. In the wedding scene, we’re going to see an uptick in the usage of mocktails, personalized signature cocktails and now, self-serve bars. This is an exciting trend surly everyone can get behind.

Sustainability Themes

Not that weddings HAVE to have a theme, but with recent natural disasters like the Australian wildfires and the earthquake in the Caribbean, it’s refreshing to see couples taking how their wedding can effect the environment into consideration. Sustainability is predicted to be a BIG trend this year. Expect to see “upcylced” florals and more, less plastic and other sustainable practices in weddings this year. Edibles

Have you ever wanted to have your bouquet AND eat it too? Well, wedding website The Knot, predicts that edible floral elements are going to make waves in weddings this year. Anticipate having edible flowers such as Citrus Begonias, Blue Borage flowers and Pansies sprinkled on tops of desserts, frozen in ice-cubes, used as confetti and more. This is one adorable way to incorporate sustainability into a wedding as well.

Ceremony of Crystals

Crystals have been said to ward off sickness, shed negative energy and even ward off illness. So it’s not a shock to see them incorporated into weddings. According to the article These are the Top Trends for 2020 Weddings, by Harper’s Bazar, in 2020 expect to see more feel-good energy, spirituality and all things mystical during ceremonies and receptions. And think of how cool it wold be to have palm and tarot card readings at a wedding!
